Oops

Sorry for the time lapse everyone...there is a LOT to catch up on!!

In my previous posts, I mentioned the need for financial breakthrough...well, I got it!!! I got a job at McDonald's of all places! My first day was July 3rd, and even thought I miss Sunday's at church, I love my job. After only a month, I am one of 14 selected to be possibly promoted within the next month. I was shocked to be selected so soon, but God is showing me my talents and skills and I am loving the rewards. Even though I am getting promoted, I have a month to learn a whole new system and will also be starting school at a new college on the 22nd. This will be a tough month financially too. The store is being closed for remodelling and I won't be getting paid nearly as much as I thought. I'm not scared though. I know that God gave me this job, this new school, and special friends in my life to help me through this. I am so fortunate to be past the point I was a couple months ago. Also, my family and I have moved into our OWN apartment! We can afford it too!!! Even without my income for the next month, we can squeeze by.

I want to say thank you to everyone that has been praying for my family. Without your prayers, I feel like I wouldn't be as thankful for all of you as I am now.

Until next time,

Desired P.O.A.

So, I have been thinking about how I can continue my husband's paperwork other than getting some job and waiting a year to see if I make enough money. There is another option. It's a hard one to follow through with because there is a lot of paperwork and it gets other people involved, but since the military is not an option, this is the way to go.

This option is Sponsorship. Since my husband is not allowed to receive government help now, and for ten years after our paperwork goes through, and because we don't meet the financial requirement, we have the option of finding a Sponsor. This person would have to meet an income requirement, as well as some other guidelines. The reason for the Sponsor is to show the government that my husband will not be a financial burden to the U.S.A. and that if anything happens to them (ie, they have to go to the ER for treatment), they have the means to pay for it. I have hesitated with this idea because we do struggle financially. I can't say that we have everything we want, but we do have everything we need, AND if something were to happen, we DO have the means to pay for emergency situations. We just don't have any income that counts towards his paperwork.

The way the financial guideline is set up for sponsorship is a little confusing. Let's say we find someone who wants to sponsor us. Let's say they are married, and have one child at home under 18 that is a dependent on their taxes. They have no other dependents and have never Sponsored before. They are also NOT in the military. This family has a household size of 3. When you Sponsor someone, you need to meet the financial requirements as if your household size was 4, basically you would count my husband as a family member. Therefore, your income requirement is $27,937. There are a lot of other factors too. The person cannot be retired, and must have all documentation for their spouse and dependents.

I have not looked into this because honestly, I didn't think anyone would sponsor someone who doesn't make a lot of money. But I think that God has closed all the other doors for a reason. This is out of my comfort zone too because I am so self-reliant and independent. I don't like asking for help, but there are times when help is needed.

I am talking about this today because if there is someone out there who can pray about my situation and about finding a sponsor to help us continue this process, then I would like them to know what to pray for. If God puts it on your heart to learn more about sponsorship and the requirements, I have links below that you can visit and the web is a great place to look up information. I do suggest that the website be a federal website because there are many fake websites that have the wrong information out there. So please, if God touches your heart to pray for us, please listen. If He touches your heart and wants you to learn more about Sponsorship, please visit the websites, or contact me on Facebook. And if He touches your heart and wants you to sponsor us, please pray about it, then contact me and we can talk about it more in depth.

I thank you all for bearing with me through this blog post. I know it's less fun, but I promise my next one will be fun :) I have been thinking of ways to liven it up a bit and still need some more ideas so if you have one, feel free to let me know lol. I love you all and will continue to pray for you.

Have a blessed day!

Much Love,

Where Do I Go From Here?

Hey everyone. I apologize for not posting for a while. I needed a break to swallow everything.

Most of you don't know this, and it was just confirmed today, that the Immigration Law that passed in Beaufort is now in effect and is the same law that Georgia and Arizona has. If you look illegal, or the officer suspects you are illegal, they can pull you over, and if you do not have valid identification, they will deport you. As I mentioned in my first post, we have started my husband's paperwork but because we do not meet the income requirements, we cannot continue that paperwork at this time. I am not sure how this new state law effects his paperwork so I honestly don't know if that is still an option. I am at a loss for words right now. I feel betrayed. But who is the person that has made me feel this way? Can I blame it on any one person? Is blaming someone the right answer? I feel like I have no options. I could move. I know people in other states. I could drop out of college, and just go. But to me that's running away. If we were to move, it's only a matter of time before the state we move to gets the same or similar law. Even if I could, I would not run away from this. I am bigger than this. At least I hope I am.

I know a few people that are going through this or have gone through this and even they can't give me an answer as to what to do. There is no comfort. I keep trying to reach out to people and I find I am reaching to people who have no idea what I am going through. They have no clue. They can read this and think they understand, but it's just the words on a screen. There is emotion and feeling to everything I am writing. I struggle to finish my written sentences. God has answers, but my flesh is fighting so hard. I find myself being double minded and praying for strength with little hope that I will be strong. I used to believe there was a light at the end of the tunnel and the tunnel started and ended in the United States. But maybe my tunnel leads to moving to a different country. I don't know. All I know is that when my husband told me he had dreams of getting a drivers license, owning a home, a truck, starting a business I told him that it would all come true. But now, how can I be sure? My dream right now is to have a husband by my side, not having to live in fear and being able to raise my family FREE. Will that ever happen? I don't know, but hey, a girl can dream right?

Please keep me and the whole Spanish community in your prayers. It's devastating to have to worry about your own family, but it's also hard to drive by a car pulled over, friends in handcuffs, and knowing their fate. It may sound melodramatic, but in some cases, it is a life and death situation.

Much Love,

Day Ten!

Hey guys! I want to apologize for yesterdays post. I was a little upset. I'm just really passionate about it.

I got my transcripts in to Liberty University so now I just have to wait until I am accepted or rejected. I am excited about starting a new major. I was scared but I can do anything I set my mind to. It will be scary, but it's all good. I've done more scary things.

I realized this weekend that my husbands status is one of the reasons why we fight. It's weird because I would think that would give me a reason NOT to fight. But it can definitely put a wedge in our relationship. We have to plan for what we will do if he gets deported and the list of options is NOT appealing to me right now. Him joining the military would be a last resort to get him citizenship. If he does get deported, the only job he could really have is working on a ship. If he does that, then he would be gone for six months, and only come home for one to two months at a time. Plus, he would come home to Honduras not the US where Susie and I would be. Not sure how that would work but honestly, that is really our only option if he gets sent back. It breaks my heart to talk about it, but with all the laws coming out sooner than I planned, it is my reality. I don't want you all to think I'm suicidal cuz im NOT lol, but it makes heaven so much more appealing. I get emotional now knowing that in heaven there is no pain, no sadness, no struggle. It's celebrating, its joy, its happiness and its love. I am praying harder than ever that my husband will realize that only God is the way and that I want him in my life FOREVER. Past death, and in heaven I want my husband there with me.

Please keep us in your prayers. We have a lot of hard things to think about and it's definitely not easy. I hope you all have a great day!

Much Love,

Day Nine

I know, I know, I said I'd take a day off, but I found out some bad news so I feel like I need to write.

The Arizona Law is very controversial in the media, but in my life, it is one of the worst things that could happen. This morning, before my coffee, my husband told me we can't go to Savannah anymore. I was confused, then he told me that they now have the same laws as Arizona. So if we were to drive into Georgia, and a cop saw him in the car with me, he could potentially pull us over, fine me, and take him away. What has this world come to?!?!?!?!?! This is heart wrenching and just plain awful. I don't understand how people who couldn't even pass the naturalization test can make the decision that whoever is already here working the jobs no one else wants to work needs to be deported. They are saying its ok to tear families apart. I have no problem saying that if he were to be deported, I would find a way to get citizenship in Honduras. I am embarrassed to live here. It is ridiculous. I am so angry and feel betrayed by my country. Nation is defined as: "A large aggregate of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory." In American History, didn't we all learn that we came here to escape Britain's rule? Well, isn't that what these "illegal immigrants" did??? What happened to ONE NATION UNDER GOD?!

My heart breaks for those families torn apart from their loved ones and I pray that God will give them the strength to push through. I also pray that God will protect my family and show us what we need to do to be safe.

Day Six

Before I start I need to make a shout out to Monkey Baby. You were a good Monkey Baby, and I know you will make another Monkey Baby very happy someday, wherever you are...(inside joke)

Well, I hope everyone is having a great morning wherever they are. I know that waking up this morning was good for me because I had an awful day yesterday. Laundry, and then Susie was not being nice. So far, she is MUCH better than yesterday lol.

My good friend has a radio show for The Imperfect Wives club. It's on every Tuesday from 10am-11am and it has been sooooooo good for me and my marriage. When I was listening yesterday, one thing that came up in the chat room was having patience or lack thereof. Let me tell you, I have ALWAYS been impatient. The word, "Wait" has never been a good word to me. It would be terrible if I had to wait for anything. I would get angry, mad, frustrated, sometimes violent. Well, I did the bold thing last November, and prayed for patience. I prayed SO HARD and honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into. One quote comes to mind, from Evan Almighty. It says, "If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient?" I was just thinking God would give me patience with my husband and my daughter. But He gave me SO many opportunities to be patient that if I didn't get it, there was a serious problem LOL. From November to mid January, I think we only got about 3 paychecks. One in November that was like, $300, December 1st was about the same, and then didn't get paid again until mid January. Our Christmas was small. I know it's not about presents, but it was Susie's first Christmas and I wanted her to have SOMETHING to open on Christmas. That was a time that I needed patience. Then, I was trying to buy a car, and couldn't find ANYTHING. And when I did buy something, it was a piece of JUNK. Every mechanic told me to junk it and start over with another car.

I was so frustrated. But towards the end of my trials, I knew what it meant to give everything and leave no room to move. Having patience is such a blessing. It is so nice to be able to relax for once! Not only can I say I have patience in my marriage, but I have patience in almost every aspect of my life. I really thing God is preparing me for something. Not sure what, but when it comes, I know I will be ready to face it. Head high, with the armor of God.

I pray that each and every one of you gets to experience the freedom of being patient. I pray that whatever you guys face whether it be good or bad, you will face it with strength and knowing that God is right there with you. You are NEVER alone. I love you all so much! Have a blessed Wednesday!

Much Love,
